CURRENT MINISTRY & MISSIONARY ACTIVITIES

  • creative hands

Well, this is the news you have all been waiting for!  Creative Hands will once again resume meeting at the church in the lower hall as of Tuesday, April 9th, 2024 from 10 a.m. until noon.

We will be knitting and crocheting for mission and starting with the Izzy Dolls. So far, I only have a pattern for knitted dolls, but will continue to look for one for those who crochet. If you knit, or would

like to learn to knit, come on out and join our fun.

We have been in contact with a soldier from Camp Borden who is willing to take our finished product and make sure it goes with the next group that is deployed and those soldiers will distribute the dolls to children in the area that they serve. Come on out and help us make this project a huge success.

  • MUSIC MINISTRY

We are a congregation who enjoys music, and have many talented members and adherents who take part in the worship service as song leaders, and often share their musical gifts. We invite and encourage others to share their gift of music with us during our Sunday Morning service.  Please contact Ruth Currie if you have any inquiries regarding this ministry – please see CONTACT page.

Our Sunday School is held concurrently with our regular Sunday morning worship service.  For more information, please click HERE.

BIBLE STUDY

Our Bible study programs are held online via Zoom.  Information on the latest session and details on how to sign up can be found on our “Newsletter and other news” page.

  • BY THE BAY BOOK CLUB
Why join a Book Club?
1. It encourages you to read.
2. You can make new friends and not just the fictional kind either.
3. It gives you a different perspective
4. It broadens your horizons
5. It improves your own writing skills
6. It gives you a break amidst the madness of life. Reading by yourself is a fantastic way to relax and unwind but reading with others in a book club can also be a great way to escape the world yet still maintain a sense of camaraderie.
Meets – The Last Tuesday of each month via Zoom at 7:00 p.m. Join us as we discuss books from a variety of genres, best sellers, fiction, non-fiction. Challenge yourself to read something you never thought you would ever read.
For more information and to sign up to be a part of our discussion please contact Heather Doner  by email doner.heather@gmail.com. A Zoom invitation will be given to you for each of our discussion times.

  • STAMPS FOR LEPROSY MISSION
Many friends of The Leprosy Mission Canada help by sending them their trimmed, used postage stamps. These stamps are then repackaged into 25 lb. bags and sold to stamp dealers. The money raised from stamp sales is used to supply medicine, care and rehabilitation to people suffering from leprosy.
Please note that stamp dealers;
Are interested in the special commemorative issues of Canadian/
American postage stamps (but are not interested in regular flag stamps)
  • Welcome all foreign stamps
  • Prefer stamps to be trimmed, leaving a 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch paper border, being careful not to damage the perforation
We have a receptacle on the table at the back of the sanctuary (in front of the sound-system booth) to collect your stamps as described above. Please support us in this mission.
